If you are looking for a home away from home in the heart of Lahaul, The Flying Monk in Gushal Village is pure magic. Perched beautifully right at the holy sangam of the Chandra and Bhaga rivers, this homestay is surrounded by stunning snow-capped mountains and positive, peaceful vibes that touch the soul. The rooms are extremely cozy, comfortable, and super clean — cleanliness and hygiene are clearly the forte here. The Wi-Fi worked well, but honestly, the real connection was with the nature around and the warmth of the people inside. Kaku bhai (Vikas Rockpa), the heart of this place, is a gem. One of my most memorable moments was trekking to the serene Tupchiling Monastery with Kaku bhai and his affectionate dog Tipsy. The home-cooked food was simply delicious, made with so much love that you truly feel you are part of a family, not just a guest. Staying at Flying Monk was a life time experience. The scenic beauty is like a AI drawn picture which changes after every 15-20 minutes. Would have stayed there for a week minimum. The hosts, Vikas and Vivek are excellent chaps. They add more stars to the wonderful stay. There is apple orchard next to the huts. Can’t miss to mention Tipsy, the cutie pie. She gave us amazing company. Would love to visit this wonderful place every year. Not to be missed place.

Stayed 6 days with Vikas and Viku in Gushal, one of the most serene and beautiful places I’ve been to so far! Surrounded by mountains and streams from every direction, the guesthouse is a safe haven for anyone looking for some peace and quiet by the mountains. Everything was fantastic! A Hidden Gem in the Himalayas! Flying Monk Huts was hands down one of the best stays of our Himachal trip. Nestled along the Leh-Manali highway near Tandi, this place offers peace, comfort, and stunning mountain views. The huts were cozy, clean, and thoughtfully designed — with a private balcony to soak in the view. The staff was warm and incredibly helpful, making us feel like family. We especially loved the food — a mix of local Himachali flavors and comforting classics. The restaurant has a chilled-out vibe. Extra points for the eco-conscious touches.
