I stayed here for one night during my visit to Varkala and had a very pleasant experience. The property was clean, tidy, peaceful, and extremely budget-friendly. One of the highlights of my stay was the small café on the property. The cook prepared excellent food, and I enjoyed it so much that I ordered all my meals from there during my stay. The food was delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was calm and quiet, making it a perfect place to relax and unwind. For anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable stay in Varkala, I would highly recommend this place. I would definitely revisit in the future.

During my almost a month's stay at Oceara, as a Volunteer, I don't think I came across any guest that went away unsatisfied. It's a newly refurbished place, so if you're looking for an old authentic kerala-style home, but turned into a comfortable and cozy hostel for your stay, it's the right spot! The host (Shivani) is quite responsive to guests' needs , and makes sure that you have a comfortable stay at reasonable prices. The location of the property is quite good as well, located very near to the market area, but in a road which is not that crowded, so you can walk to the market, but yet, when you're in the hostel, it's peaceful. Also, the beach is not too far from the place too, and if you're someone who likes to walk, can reach there walking easily in 20-25 minutes.

This hostel is perfectly situated—tucked away in a calm location but still easily accessible from the railway station and local attractions. My room was spotless and very well-maintained. A huge thanks to the manager Kiran and Shivani for making the stay so seamless and hassle-free. Having the Suntra Cafe on-site is a major plus; the food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway!

We had a real good time here. The place is clean with hygienic bathrooms, wide and comfy beds and good a very responsive host. The place has a cafe attached to it serving delicious Paratha and sandwiches with juices. I would recommend Vada pav and chat which is very hard to find in Varkala.
